Massachusetts Gaming Commission fines Plainridge Park Casino for security issue

The Plainridge Park Casino of Massachusetts will have to pay a $65,000 fine due to not being in compliance with requirements for security staffing on-site. The casino has been found to be in violation of the minimum requirements on several occasions from a time frame ranging from December 26th 2016 until January 7th 2017, plus another infraction on January 14th 2017.

The Investigations and Enforcement Bureau of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission reviewed the security staffing levels of the slots parlor and agents found during their random checks that on 46 separate occasions the security levels were not meeting minimum requirements during 12 checks.

Ed Bedrosian is the Executive Director for the Gaming Commission who stated that the 7BALL security staffing levels are critical due to the role of the security department to ensure the safety of the public as well as monitor alcohol consumption and prevent underage gambling from taking place.

The Plainville casino had a right to a hearing but waived this right by agreeing to pay the fine. The casino is also taking steps to repair the issue of security by managing the security department with enhanced measures and providing more training for security employees in regards to regulatory compliance.

Aside from this fine, Plainridge Park has been doing quite well in regards to gaming revenues, having earned $174.8 million in wagers during the last revenue report posting, which provided the venue with $14.3 million in gross gaming revenues.
